Linda’s story

After the birth of her second child, Linda gained quite some weight. Once she stopped breastfeeding, she started gaining more weight. It became time to start eating healthier, lose weight and gain energy. Together with her sister, Linda started the 1BALANCE program. In the meantime, she has almost reached her target weight. Below is her story!

Linda: “Last year, I gave birth to my second child. I had already wanted to lose weight before my pregnancy, but when I became pregnant, I decided to fully enjoy it. I stopped breastfeeding after 6 months and at that time, I weighed 94 kilos. I thought that was too much for me, but I was not at all focusing on what I was eating. I regularly had huge mood swings and had to eat then, it didn’t matter what it was, as long as it had sugar, particularly cookies and chocolate. Especially at night, when the children were in bed, I went wild! Consequently, on the 1st of September, the scale showed my weight as a few ounces past 100 kilos. I did not feel comfortable in my body at all, and I wasn’t the mother or wife that I wanted to be. I could regularly burst into spontaneous tears and grumbled a lot. That’s when I knew, something must change. I had seen the 1BALANCE programs a few times and it was very appealing to me because I could keep eating normally. Together with my sister, we decided to start.”

“Sorry, lazy mum here”

My goal was to lose 10 kilos before Christmas, 15 kilos before my birthday in March and 20 kilos in total before the summer. I decided not to be too strict on myself because that was my big pitfall in the past. Occasionally, I allowed myself to go out for dinner and I didn’t pay attention to it. I wasn't hungry at all, so I did not believe I was actually going to lose weight. I work in a hospital and my pants were so tight that I hoped I did not have to bend down. After 2 weeks, my pants fit great and that’s when I knew; this really works! This was the reason why I was doing it, and it was such good motivation to keep going. I liked that it was easy to combine with the family. There weren’t any crazy products; I had most of the products at home already. In the end, I did not have to stick to the schedule all the time. Sometimes I would eat some fruit instead of a smoothie, (sorry, lazy mum here haha). I also discovered mini rice cakes and whole-wheat toasts with slices of smoked chicken as a snack. I also regularly still drink my cappuccino with a little light whipped cream. October was the tough month for me, I had four dinners and a high tea. There goes my hard work, I thought. However, I still lost 4 kilos! After 10 weeks, I had another little setback, I ate a lot of things that weren't on the menu. But luckily, it was quite easy to get back on track!

Even though I am not at my target weight yet, I am already extremely happy with the result. I am noticing that I am benefitting a lot from the whole grain products; my skin is so much better than it was before. I no longer have pimples and my hormone imbalance has completely disappeared. Before this, I noticed huge spikes and dips in my blood sugar levels, which caused my annoying mood swings. I have gone down several dress sizes and it still feels weird to order those sizes, I still get scared that it won’t fit. My mind hasn’t caught up with my body yet, haha, but I am sure it will come! For now, I have every reason to use this new lifestyle as a guideline for my future.

Frequently asked questions

The program consists of 12 weekly emails. After you paid, I will immediately send you the first email. Sometimes they end up in different folders than the inbox, so make sure to check your spam and junk mail too . Every week participants will receive a new meal plan, with seven detailed daily plans. Each day consists of 3 meals and 3 snacks, adding up to 1500 kcal per day. This is enough to get all the nutrients (and not be hungry), and yet well below the average daily energy expenditure of 2000 kcal. In addition to the weekly menus, the program also contains an e-book with delicious recipes for the weekend, several practical tips, and a list of variations if someone does not like something!

There are no strings attached, I only charge the £39,00 once, which depends on the program that you have chosen (with or without coaching). The payment is done through ideal, which means that we will not be able to collect anything from your account in the future. It is 100% safe!

My weight loss program is not a crash diet, but a healthy way of eating with the goal of a long-term result. During the day you can eat a lot, which will prevent snacking in the evening. You will eat the right ratio of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. This very important for weight loss!

Of course, you can! My advice is to eat according to the schedule during the day. Do not compensate by not eating anything because than the risk of starvation is higher and the consequences alongside it (for example, eating too much bread to supress the hunger). Order a dish with vegetables and have some fries with it. The plate doesn’t need to empty. ;) It’s best if the dessert gets skipped or shared with another, that way you are only eating half of the kcal. Alcohol does not help either, but a nice glass of wine should be allowed now and again. An extra hour of exercise does wonders!

It is very simple, the better you stick to the schedule, the faster you will lose weight. But I believe that losing weight should be fun. During the weekend, you can choose for something a little less healthy. Then opt for small portions. For example, share a pizza and eat a salad with it, or have a handful of fries with one snack and supplement this with some roasted oven vegetables.

Of course, the program is suitable to follow with others. The program consists of tasty, well-arranged meals that can be enjoyed by the whole family. However, the amounts are tailored to women who want to lose weight in a healthy way. Children can eat normally until they are full.

I combine carbohydrates with the right amount of fats and proteins. This combination ensures that the blood sugar levels do not rise too quickly so that the body does not have to make an unnecessary amount of insulin. This ensures that the normal amount of bread and pasta can be consumed, and you will still lose weight! The weekly menus consist of 1500 kcal per day. The average woman burns 2000 kcal per day and when overweight, this can be even more. The only way to see long term results, is to be eating enough every day!
